Water Penis Pumping Vs Air Pumping – Which Works Best?

Many men start out with an air pump for the simple reason that air pumps are usually cheaper to buy.

You can get a reasonably priced air pump for between $20 and $50 which is affordable for most people. A good water pump (Like this one) could set you back $150-$200 (and maybe more if you invest in some accessories to go with it).

But is the higher price worth the investment, and is water pumping really any better than air pumping?

To research this article we spent quite a bit of time reading male enhancement forums that discuss the use of penis pumps and other penis enlargement methods (in case you want to check these out yourself see forums such as thundersplace.org and mattersofsize.com).

We found that most men who start out air pumping and graduate to water pumping would never go back. There IS a major difference between the two methods, and most men find that the extra money paid for the water pump was more than worth the investment.

Here are a few of the benefits of water pumping over air pumping:

  • No lubricant is needed so there’s no mess and no need for cleaning up afterward. As you are water pumping in the shower or bath, it’s just a simple matter of drying off when you get out.
  • There is far less edema build up for the same amount of pressure. Edema or lymph build-up is an accumulation of fluid under the skin – this usually occurs due to over-pumping and can cause soreness and discoloration. You are much less likely to experience this (or at least to a lesser degree) with water pumping. Water pumps expand the tissues much more effectively at lower vacuum levels.
  • As you are using heated water in the shower or bath, you don’t need to use an electric or microwaveable heat pad (heat enhances blood flow making your penis expand more during a pumping session).
  • Water pumping usually takes less time as you can do it whenever you’re taking your normal shower – you don’t need to take any time out of your day to indulge in some male enhancement.

The Problem with Air Pumps

You need to apply a particular amount of force before length changes occur, however after you go beyond a certain vacuum level you will experience an unacceptable accumulation of edema. With air pumping many men experience this edema build-up BEFORE they hit the right level of force to produce length gains. You may be able to work around this by jelqing, hanging or stretching BEFORE pumping as this may lower the vacuum level you need to achieve for an effective session. This edema problem mainly only applies to length, as girth expansion can be done at a lower vacuum level. The general consensus is that with air pumping, most men experience more girth gains than length.

Just to clarify, air pumping isn’t completely obsolete, and if you use it and get permanent results there’s no reason why you shouldn’t continue using it. However, water pumping has been proven over and over again to be more effective, so if you’re serious about pumping and can afford a slightly more expensive model, it’s well worth investing in a water pump.

The most popular water pump on the market today is the Bathmate Hydromax pump. This is the pump that nearly everyone is talking about at the moment, and as there are a number of different sizes available depending on your requirements, you should be able to find one that suits you perfectly.

For more information or to try the Bathmate for yourself, visit officialhydromaxpump.com (this is the official site owned and operated by UM products, the manufacturer of the Bathmate range).

If you’re not ready to invest in a water pump yet but would prefer to start with a cheaper air pump we recommend checking out Amazon.com as they have a number of different vacuum pumps to choose from.

We also tried some extenders such as these here or for example this one. Both of them are very good alternatives to using a water penis pump, so make sure to check them out too!
